Apple Health, heart rate and calories
With your permission, Tennis Time reads your heart rate and active calories during a warmup or match and saves each one to Apple Health as a tennis workout. Your health data stays on your watch and in Apple Health.
What Tennis Time reads and saves
- Reads your heart rate and active energy while a warmup or match is running.
- Reads your date of birth to work out your heart rate zones (220 minus your age).
- Saves each warmup and match as a tennis workout in Apple Health.
Health permission is asked the first time you start a warmup or a match. Scoring works without it; heart rate and calories then show --.
Check or change access
On the watch, go to Settings > Health to see whether heart rate and calories are allowed.

To change it, open the Health app on your iPhone, tap your picture, then Apps under Privacy, and choose Tennis Time.
Where you see it
- During a match, on the Controls page.
- After a match, in History: duration, calories, average, highest and lowest heart rate.
- Over time, in Statistics > Health: heart rate, time in each zone, calories and records.
